Thank you for being a PDF Plotting customer and thank you to those who took the time to fill out our survey! Please see below for information on some of the changes that we have made for 2023:
PRICING:
We have simplified our ordering experience by combining black & white and color into one section. If your pattern files are color, they will be printed in color. If they are black & white, they will bet printed in black and white. The price is 23¢ per square foot, making an A0 page $2.45.
This is something we have delayed doing as long as possible, however with rising costs of materials, ink and labor, we have to make this change to continue offering our printing service. We realize that this is a price increase for those who usually print in black & white, however for those who have been printing in color, this will equate to a lower price than what you were paying.
SAVE WITH LARGER ORDERS:
Management has agreed to offer some discounts to help offset the price change mentioned above. We have implemented the following discounts:
• Orders over $25 will get 5% off
• Orders over $50 will get 10% off
• Orders over $75 will get 15% off
• Orders over $100 will get 20% off
These discounts will automatically apply in your cart, so the more you buy, the more you save!
SHIPPING:
Shipping is expensive and it only continues to go up. UPS is changing rates and services in the first quarter of 2023. UPS SurePost shipments will have a surcharge applied that will actually make it more expensive than UPS Ground. We will also no longer be able to ship patterns in bags. UPS is requiring all shipments to be in boxes which adds to our cost, takes up valuable storage space, and increases labor to fold and tape boxes.
We are no longer shipping through UPS SurePost. Instead, we are shipping by UPS Ground for $12.99 within the contiguous US. This is a slight increase over our current UPS SurePost rates but it means that your patterns will get to you faster through a more reliable shipping service. Plus, management has agreed to a discounted shipping structure. For every $25 you spend, you'll see that shipping rate go down by $2 in your cart.
PAPER:
The survey results indicated that a significant portion of our customers are interested in a thinner material that is easier to fold and easier to sew through. We have found a newsprint material that is compatible with our printers and is approximately 30%-40% thinner than our standard 20lb. bond paper. We have added this as a separate product on the website. This newsprint paper is more expensive than our standard 20# bond so we have to price it at 27¢ per square foot, making an A0 page $2.95.
FOLDING:
Folding is not something we will be able to offer in the foreseeable future. We would have to either invest in a very expensive folding machine or spend a lot of time hand folding pages.
PRINTING SPECIFIC LAYERS / SIZES:
Unfortunately, this is not something we can do. Most patterns files are "locked" from the designer, preventing anyone from making any kind of changes to them without a password.
